Churriana is an urbanised area that is situated approximately 20 minutes from
the heart of
Malaga and approximately 15 minutes to the resort of
Torremolinos.

Main Tourist Attractions
Churriana is home to the Parque de El Retiro which has beautiful sub-tropical
gardens with over 150 species of exotic birds. On the outskirts of Churriana

are also several gymnasiums and swimming pools located in the community of

Spanish artist and there are several exhibitions of fine art to be seen. History
buffs will love the opportunity to wander around the Roman amphitheatre, the
10th century Moorish fortress and the 8th century Castillo de Gibralfaro. Nearby
Torremolinos is home to several beaches where you can relax in the sun or take
part in water sports such as diving, jet skiing and surfing. There is also
access to ample amounts of countryside so walkers, hikers and mountain bikers
will have plenty to do. The children can enjoy spending the day at the water
park with a variety of exciting water slides.
Shopping Opportunities
Churriana has several shops and supermarkets where residents and visitors will
find the everyday essential items. A short walk will take you into the centre f
Malaga where shopaholics will enjoy the Marques de Larios, the upmarket shopping
district of the city. It is lined with plush boutiques and expensive designer
outlets, selling items such as clothing, jewellery, perfume, watches and quality
souvenirs. Malaga also has an El Cortes Ingles depart store where you can find
all you need under one roof. There are also street markets held in Malaga on a
Monday and Wednesday every week.
Eating out and Nightlife
There are many bars, restaurants and cafιs to be found in Churriana and the
immediate area. Most of the establishments have a varied many, with a mixture of
authentic Spanish dishes and international dishes. The centre of Malaga has many
fine dining restaurants along with eateries to suit all tastes and budgets.
There are no nightclubs or discos in the immediate vicinity of Churriana; Malaga
is known for its vibrant nightlife and there are plenty of live entertainments
venues, pubs and clubs to be found within walking distance of the area.
