Torrenueva is a quiet urbanised area located between the principal resorts of
Marbella and
Fuengirola. It is an upmarket resort with a mixture of beautiful
whitewashed apartments, houses and villas. Torrenueva offers residents and
guests the chance of a quiet and relaxing time, yet is close enough to enjoy the
hive of activity in the nearby popular tourist spots.
Main Tourist Attractions
Torrenueva is very close to several great golf courses including those at
Miraflores,
Riviera del Sol and
Calahonda. It is also a great base to enjoy
sporting activities such as tennis, bowls, quad biking, horse riding and squash.
Torrenueva has its own sandy beach with crystal blue waters. You can simply laze
in the midday sun or enjoy some water sports on offer that include jet skiing,
windsurfing and diving. The short drive to Fuengirola gives visitors the
opportunity to visit the open air zoo, an exciting waterpark, Solhail Castle and
a cinema. Heading in the opposite direction, Marbella has Funny Beach which
provides lots of activities for the kids including boat rides, trampolining and
go-karting. The Old Town sector in Marbella has many green spaces to sit and
relax, as well as ornate squares to sit and watch the world go by.
Shopping Opportunities
The area has a selection of shops which have essential holiday items as well as
clothing, leather goods, shoes, toys and souvenirs. Fuengirola has a large
shopping centre, The Miramar, as well as an El Cortes Ingles department store on
the outskirts of town. Marbella is home to the world renowned
Golden Mile where
the rich and famous do their shopping. It is lined with international brands of
designer clothing, housed in exquisite boutiques. You can also purchase
expensive jewellery, perfume, shoes and watches. There are several street
markets held each week in both Marbella and Fuengirola where shoppers can pick
up a bargain.
Eating out and Nightlife
Torrenueva has several bars, cafés and restaurants to choose from. Alongside the
authentic Spanish meals, there are eateries that offer food from India, China
and Britain. There are beach bars serving a range of food and drink located
along the stretch of beach.
There are no discos or nightclubs in the district, however several bars have
karaoke and live music entertainment. A short trip to Marbella, Fuengirola or
Puerto Banus will keep partygoers dancing until dawn. For those who fancy a
gamble, Puerto Banus is home to a casino which also lays on live shows during
the summer months.
